Growth Enabling Infrastructure

Lauzon Parkway / Sandwich South

INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT UNDERWAY

What Happened

Windsor's approved 2026 capital investments include $45.7 million for Banwell Road corridor improvements and $20.7 million for Lauzon Parkway and Cabana Road East infrastructure improvements. The City connects these investments with development around NextStar, the future hospital, airport lands and further development of Sandwich South.

  • $45.7M Banwell Road corridor improvements.
  • $20.7M Lauzon Parkway / Cabana Road East infrastructure improvements.

Investment Impact

Development needs infrastructure. Hospitals, factories, subdivisions and employment lands require transportation, servicing and other municipal capacity. These projects help show where the City is investing to accommodate existing projects and future growth.

Jeremy’s Take

Infrastructure isn't as exciting to talk about as a new hospital or battery plant, but it's one of the things I pay close attention to. When a municipality starts investing heavily in roads and servicing around undeveloped land, I want to understand what that infrastructure is intended to support. It doesn't guarantee that every proposed development gets built. It tells me where development capacity is being created.

Things to Watch

Road construction timelines, servicing of airport and Sandwich South lands, future residential and employment approvals and broader transportation connections.
